The crabs were delivered with care. The overall quality was good. The MAJORITY 85% of the crabs were not the size and weight that I normally receive when I order 1/2 bushel standard male crabs which is what I always purchase. They were MUCH more smaller than 5"-5 1/2" crabs I generally receive. Not dissatisfied but very disappointed. I chalked it up as it being early in the season and the crabs are still molting, I don't know, but whatever the case, Hopefully my next order will be more satisfactory.

I'm from Maryland and moved to North Carolina. I haven't been able to find any blue crab spots here. I had crabs shipped to from Crab Place and I'm glad I did. They arrived when expected, the crabs were packaged very well and were delicious! Customer service is awesome, they keep you updated with your delivery & respond promptly to answer any questions or concerns.

I ordered a dozen and pleasantly surprised with several additional meaty heavy crabs. Every signal one was delicious.

I have been a VIP customer for some time but that was not why that Crabplace upgrade my order; "We regret to inform you that our premium males are not available today. Many of crabs are small, I hope my future order will be 6 inch or bigger. I can’t recommend to others because it costs $200 for 30 crabs it’s expensive.

Largest “select” crabs you’ve ever delivered. Full, delicious, and a generous “lagniapppe” (“baker’s dozen” for folks not of Cajun country). Suggestions for rehydrating a bit once they’re unpacked would be welcome. Tasty as is! But a warmed, juicier meat would approach perfection. Thanks for a sumptuous repast up here in New England for a displaced bayou family.

Meat was in excellent shape, perfect for making crabcakes and glad that you had recipes on your website for it. I actually chopped up some shrimp and mixed with it and then froze it into patties and then vacuum seal them for later.

Aloha Crab Place Team, I struggled a bit with your new website. I was so used to the other that I found this one a little difficult to navigate. No worries, I called your AMAZING Customer Service Support. They were very willing to assist. The Colossal Crabs were amazing! You pay a premium, however, if you want HEAVY and MUSTARD packed, these are the crabs you want. And, as we say in Hawaii, many MAHALOS for the EXTRAS you throw in!

The staff are more than friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction!

I love the crabs from the CrabPlace. I have ordered so many times since moving from Baltimore. As soon as I opened the package I dug right in. Just the right amount of seasoning. The crabs were well packed and delivered on time. I’m definitely ordering again. It’s wonderful to have a great, satisfying and nostalgic taste of home.

I always order crabs from CRABPLACE for my father on special occasions. Crabs has always been his favorite but now that he is 97 yrs old he prefers crab balls or crab cakes! But I always order the hard crabs also because he still likes to pick’em. He has been a fan of Crabplace for many years!!!

The crabs had good weight which means nice and meaty. I cooked my own because I love them really spicy and salty.

I typically order Large female crabs and these were a bit small. I did take pictures that I can provide. I'm thinking my order may have gotten mixed up with regular sized.

I still can't order on my Surface, no matter what browser I use. I have to place order on my phone, anywhere else, the screens freeze. Seafood outstanding once again!

The crab were excellent. Have you considered wrapping the crab in something or protecting them somehow so tiny pieces of styrofoam don’t end up all over them?

The crabs were delicious as always, but there were some females thrown in the order. I wasn't upset, but a little disappointed that the order was mixed.

I got the Alaskan Bairdi crab legs and they were delicious! I would recommend to everyone. I really like the new packaging.

The middleneck clams were perfect. Clean, no grit, tender, and sweeter than sugar. Make them with a linguini al dente in white sauce as I did for my wife last week. She loved them (as did I)! The fresh middlenecks are one of CrabPlace’s best kept secrets. You won’t find fresher or tastier clams anywhere!

The crabs were good. However they were a bit small to be considered Large Females. To me they were moreso like regular sized Females. I LOVE the Crab Place so I will be ordering again this week. Fingers crossed they are large this time around. :)

Pleasantly surprised. I got a call the day before delivery. They was out of females which I ordered and ask me to change to males. The males was heavy. One dead, but his shell got claw punctured. Could probably steam him, but the pot, the second one, was capacity. The leftovers went to good use. Highly recommended. Will order again

Last week my mother was asked if she could have anything to eat, what would she ask for. Her answer; Maryland crab cakes. My 93 year old parents (in the grip of dementia) were delighted with their Maryland crabcakes. Their granddaughter fried them up in butter (her 1st time ever) and we got the cakes to my folks while they were still warm. OMG, the meat was so sweet, delicious and fresh. I know they were flash frozen but upon cooking in the oven with shallow water, they were perfect! This was my first time having them but it surely won’t be the last. Thank you Crab Place!

I’m not to fond of what seems to be a change in the amount of VIP cash back credit you give now, but other than that things are great. I spend a lot of money with this company and to only have $7 to go towards my order-well lets just say I think it should be more, but I’m just expressing my opinion.

Haven’t had the tails yet, but they’re always delicious. The Crab Place is the best and their price is great! Over the years I’ve tried several other places, but none come close!

The only reason I gave a 3 for delivery is because Each time my package is delivered they lay it on it's side NO MATTER the fact that the Arrow on the Crab Place box instructs how the package is to be laid. It's just amazing to me they do this Every Single time. Obviously its no big deal to them, and in no way reflects on CRAB PLACE, it's just VERY Noticeable.

Just couldn’t wait till summer and got crabs in March and they were still awesome, not to mention the kindness of customer service! I ordered half females half males, good stuff let me tell you!

Although there was a day delay in receiving my order, we were still able to enjoy them. However, the size of a lot of them weren't considered premium.

The oysters was fresh and briny and delicious. The soft shell crabs was hitting hard with that Epi garlic butter drizzled on top of that perfectly fried crab. Perfection!

I have never ordered the female crabs but since there was a sale I decided to give them a try. I am so glad I did. They were so sweet. I got the large. Saved some of them to make Maryland soup. From now on I am going to split my order half males half female. Thanks Crab Place!!

My recent crab order was excellent! They were delivered on time, which is extremely important. The packing was in great shape and the ice packets were still frozen. I've ordered many times and will continue as long a things start the same. The crabs were actually fresh and full of meat!!

Using offers is confusing when there is a deal and you have a credit or coupon to add, but customer service is quick to respond. Made amazing crab soup with the female crabs. Will continue to order premium males.

The customer service especially with team member Linda is amazing!!! She is always kind and willing to go above and beyond! She is amazing! The crabs I received the cycle were just okay. I think my favorite is the Large Female Crabs and if they are out of stock I may withhold trying others types.

Know it's early, probably too early to be ordering crabs, but couldn't resist! They weren't good, and I'm going to presume it's because it's early. Am I correct?

This order was a gift to my family for a family gathering. The family was extremely disappointed with the size of the Crabs, so I advised them to use the provided measuring tape to determine if the Crabs were correct. Of the half bushel, only a couple were more than “5” inches….. This does not seem to qualify as “Select Crabs” and I was quite embarrassed, having frequently telling family about the Crabs from your company.

The flavor was missing. I felt the need to season, The best part was tasting the crab without adding anything. They were very plain.

Due to confusion with the excessive emails about VIP status, costs and payments, as well as discounts and bonuses, I opted to order by the phone. The person on line was very helpful, but said I couldn’t receive my April $10 discount due to the computer wouldn’t allow it. Other than that I was very pleased as usual. John Weaver

The crabs arrived smashed which made the less appealing, the meat was good. When I found out UPS was back on for delivery, I wasn’t happy to hear the news, I’ve had way better experiences with FedEx oppose to UPS regarding deliveries. Hopefully my next experience will be a good one.

Product Quality: while the Crabs were true to size with this order, this is the second occurrence where I received Crabs that were completely smashed through the shell into the meat of the Crabs. This most recent order only had 2 completely smashed Crabs, which I deposed of….. Looking forward to my next order, and hope to be completely satisfied, as with the many orders that I have placed over several years.

The crabs were small and they were supposed to be medium seasoned but little at all I was disappointed for the first time since I’ve been ordering them.

Crabs are always tasty, but this time they were rather smaller than usual, I ordered the regular size a dozen but still enjoyed them. Thinking about ordering again for this weekend delivery but the small size is still in my mind.

I ordered a dozen steamed and seasoned premium sized crabs and not all were of premium size. I’ve been ordering for myself, family and friends for quite some time and the seasoning was a little different for me this order. It won’t stop me from ordering in the future but I will take a bit of a break

The crab legs were very good but some of the pieces were broken inside the individual bags. They also showed a fair amount of freezer burn inside the bags. They tasted great but the presentation suffered a bit. I ordered 3 lbs but they were packaging in 4 different bags. I did not weight them but I believe I got 3lbs. Overall I would order again.

I have always loved the great customer service and everything about the Crab Place---but this time the crabs was below standard----I chuck it up that it's not crab season :(

4 of the crabs had one claw which hasn’t happened previously. Slightly disappointed but crab meat was still good.

The last 2 orders that I've put in have been rough. The crabs haven't been very good and the crab legs have been pretty much tasteless. Is there a reason for this? I'm hesitant to order from you again. I've been a customer for years and have never gotten a bad product in the past, still, two in a row is noteworthy.

I wish the cooking instructions were written on the items. I followed the instructions I found for the crab cakes, but it didn't say to thaw them out first, so it ended up messing them up--they were still cold inside & then getting them heated properly ended up drying it out because of the extended time. I didn't even find instructions for the crab legs.

Good product, but legs were broken during the shipment. They also seemed to slightly smaller in size. But over all, good flavor.

its been a while since my last order, I believe there waw a snow delay but it was cold weather so all the order was still cold. I do not like your new ordering set up. It is diificult for me to navigate.. I liked you orginal display and order system much better.

The shipping is the biggest issue I have. Twice within a three month period my order was at least a day later than expected delivery date. This time about two and a half dozens were severely broken or mashed. I figure this was due to FedEx throwing the box around.

I love females but I was told they were out, I had the choice to substitute for males and I’m sorry I did ? this is a first time I wasn’t happy and didn’t enjoy them, I had company I should have waited, next time I will

I wish you had more of a value price for the Jumbo size male blue crabs. I prefer the Larger Male Blue Crabs; overall, the 5”-6” crab is entirely too much work for me. Lastly, why on earth is the shipping so expensive?.

I assume that I mistakenly ordered pasteurized crabmeat, which I have never done before. It was fine but not very good. My fault, not yours. I don’t find your new website an improvement. To me, it’s way more cumbersome.

The size of the crabs were the size that I've become accustomed to receiving. The delivery was late! It appears that a shipment involving transit through Concord, NC will be delayed. This is not the first incident of delayed delivery through that location.

Fedex delivered 24 hrs late and and on Saturday - items had thawed. Not happy!! Called customer service on Monday. (Linda?) was terrific and promptly scheduled a replacement. All problems I encountered are directly related to Fedex punctuality - otherwise rating would be ALL 5's!! Finally enjoying my crab claws - Thank you, Linda & Crab Place........

I forgot I was still on the hook for the VIP membership until I saw the $100 come out of my account. Knowing it was unlikely you all would refund me, I decided to place an order. I do appreciate that I've consistently received a couple of extra crabs in my order, but these crabs didn't taste like Maryland crabs to me at all. They were not sweet and I typically don't get seasoning because the first time I ordered from you all the seasoning left an aftertaste I didn't care for. If I order again, I hope to have a better experience, taste-wise.

The Epicure cans of pasteurized backfin held too many tiny pieces of shell in it which were impossible to remove by hand but could be felt at every bite. Too bad because crab meat itself was very tasty.

I ordered 3 cans of pasteurized lump/backfin to make crabcakes. The flavor of the crabmeat was very good but the consistency of the packed crabmeat held the tiniest pieces of shells that were impossible to remove and could be felt every bite of crabcake. I will not order again the Epicure brand for that reason. Seems to me I've never had that problem before.

Placed an order for large female crabs. Got a call, a day before arrival is due, advising there were none available (second time i place an order and product is not available). Had to substitute for smaller crabs. i did receive a $30ish credit, but the product was not up to par. The crabs had very little mean, very small claws. The next time I order large females and none are available, I will not take the smaller crabs.

always will recommend crabplace but this time for the first time I ordered crab meat (pasteurized) that we used Friday night for crabcakes. the big lovely lumps of meat were all delicious, but the loose meat on the inside was very "grainy," I wasn't sure whether it would be sand or some other kind of gritty powder. We were only able to use part of it, as I didn't want to take a chance on what the grainy bits were and didn't want to try to rinse as it would lose the flavor and likely wash away.

My order was not quite premium size. Definitely disappointed. The price is too expensive to not be the right size, this order was so small. Very disappointed.

Ordered live in advance of family leaving. Got a last minute call that delivery date was unavailable so they left without crab. I get fishing and the risk to be able to fulfill orders, but that was disappointing.

1/2 of the packages did not have the 14+ tag in them and were clearly not the same as those that did. Also not one of the packages looked like those featured on your website

The large female crabs was very hollow. Hardly no meat inside. Also most that had meat was very mushy.

The woman crabs were mushy. The male crabs were amazing. Not sure what happened because l order often.

I am sorry to rate the overall experience so low. However, this is the second time I have responded to an ad, making a purchase, and then when it was shipped, the lobster went on sale 30% off. It may not seem like a big deal, but I am a bit reluctant to commit to a large purchase anytime soon, for fear the next day the items I want will be on sale. Maybe it is bad timing, I don't know. But it is a concern for me.
