Crab Meltaways

By: Charlotte Scott
10 minute prep

Crab Meltaways are a delicious and easy appetizer for a festive gathering, a cocktail party, or a romantic dinner. To avoid the last-minute rush, you can prepare them days ahead of time. In fact, they store well in the freezer for up to six months, so you can use a few or a quantity as needed depending on the event. They pair well with seafood for your main dish -- for example, rockfish, shrimp, or lobster. Or you can have them as appetizers before serving steak. Regardless, you can’t go wrong with Crab Meltaways because your guests are guaranteed to rave about them as the highlight of the meal or party. This recipe takes 10 minutes of prep and 5 minutes of cooking.

Directions

  1. Mix together the butter and the cheese until blended.
  2. Add the salt and mayonnaise. Stir in the crab meat.
  3. Cut each English muffin half into quarters.
  4. Put a teaspoon of the crab mixture on each quarter.
  5. Put the quarters under the broiler until light brown.
