Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat, mayonnaise, melted butter, lemon juice, diced celery, and chopped chives. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 
  • Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Brush the outsides of the hot dog buns or split-top rolls with melted butter. 
  • Place the buttered buns on the skillet or griddle, cut side down. Toast them until they are lightly golden brown and crispy on the edges, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove from heat. 
  • If desired, line the toasted buns with lettuce leaves for added freshness and crunch. 
  • Spoon the lobster mixture generously into each toasted bun, dividing it evenly among the rolls. 
  • Serve the Maine Lobster Rolls immediately, accompanied by extra lemon wedges and your favorite sides such as potato chips, coleslaw, or pickles.

Ingredients: 



  • 1 1/2 pounds cooked lobster meat, chopped into bite-sized pieces 
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise 
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 2 stalks celery, finely diced 
  • Optional: 1 green onion, finely diced (this can be removed if you want to skip the onion flavor) 
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped 
  • Salt and pepper, to taste 
  • 4 top-split hot dog buns or New England-style split-top rolls 
  • Extra melted butter, for brushing 
  • Optional: lettuce leaves for serving
